Associate Professor In-Residence Opportunity – UCSF

The Department of Dermatology of the University of California at San Francisco is seeking to appoint a new faculty member at the Associate Professor level to establish research program with the focus on understanding the mechanisms of tumor initiation and progression by oncogenes, with the goal to identify therapeutic targets for patients with cancer with the focus on melanoma. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for mentoring and teaching scholars and students. The appointee will be given laboratory space in 2340 Sutter at the Mount Zion campus of UCSF and will be a member of the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program.

Requirements:
Candidates are required to hold a PhD, or MD/PhD degree, and to have demonstrated achievement in their field at the time of appointment. Application materials must state qualifications (or if pending) upon submission.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See [Table 5](https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2023-24/oct-2023-acad-salary-scales/t5-summary.pdf). The minimum base salary range for this position is $139,500-$176,000. This position includes membership in the [health sciences compensation plan](https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf) which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
